Young Climate Author Books
Cogitation Club signature programs include the Young Climate Authors (YCA) and Young Earth Authors (YEA) programs (previously known as Earth Authors for Climate Change & Earth Authors Program). These programs use project-based learning, critical pedagogy, place-based & nature education to teach middle and high schoolers about nature, the environment and climate change. Our research documented improvement in children's environmental and climate literacy, enhanced sense of agency & empowerment and improved metacognition, creativity & engagement. The YCA Educator Training, a 12-week capacity building training for environmental educators, was conducted recently to equip educators across the world to implement this program in their communities.
