English for Teachers - Level 1

About the Course: This 12-week, introductory course improves reading comprehension, written communication, grammar, spoken English & digital literacy.  Students will learn how to compose emails, write factual reports, speak professionally, understand short stories and identify common grammatical errors in written English. Activities - which include discussion, debates, role-plays, presentations & the use of digital tools - make the classes fun and engaging while enabling deep learning.   


About the Facilitator: Aneesa Jamal has over 15 years of experience in teaching & learning. She is a CEE-Change Fellow with the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) and holds certifications from Cornell University & National Geographic. Under her mentorship, students have written over 50 story books, won national level awards and been published in children’s magazines. She has run several capacity building programs for teachers and other adults. Aneesa is an alum of Smith College & University of Washington & is currently doing her PhD in Education.
