Young Climate Authors  Educator Training Program

About the Program: The program equips environmental educators to teach children how to write storybooks on climate change. Topics include overview of climate change, mentoring creative writing & illustration, digital design & climate action with children.  The outcomes adhere to UN SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action) & SDG 17 (Partnerships for Goals).  Upon completion of the course, participants may apply for a grant to implement the program  in their communities.

About the Facilitator: Aneesa Jamal is a CEE-Change Fellow with the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) and holds certifications from Cornell University & National Geographic. Under her mentorship, students have written over 50 story books, won national level awards and been published in children’s magazines. She is an alum of Smith College & University of Washington.
