Reading Thru the Year (RTTY) is a three-year program which instills important Habits of Mind through the use of short stories. The program enables students to become thoughtful, curious, persistent, empathetic and innovative thinkers. Stories are carefully curated across a variety of genres and cultures to enable children to expand their thinking skills, build enthusiasm for reading and cultivate a literary appreciation. Alongside, children learn a range of writing skills, both fictional and non-fictional. In the 3rd year, students transform from learners to authors of children’s illustrated storybooks. The classes are very interactive with a slew of engaging activities that deepen understanding, build collaboration and create an enthusiasm for reading. Each year consists of three modules.
